Fitness and Wellbeing

It’s not surprising that runners like to track their mileage. Why?  Because tracking your running distance can be helpful to determine your training volume and performance progress.

Last year I decided to measure my yearly mileage in km and $$. I used STRAVA to track km and piggy bank to track $$ ($0.25 for every one km I run).  Guess what? By end of the year the cash collected was sufficient to buy new Garmin XT735 and a new pair of running shoes.

I challenge every runner to start the 2019 Piggy Bank challenge for runners and at the end of the year we can share and celebrate our success stories.

The Piggy Bank challenge is very simple:

  1. Obtain Piggy Bank (you can use glass jar instead)
  2. Collect $0.25 for every km you run throughout the year. For example, if you run 5km, collect $1.25 ($0.25 x 5). The more you run the more money you collect
  3. If your distance has decimals, round it to the nearest whole number. For example, if you run 21.1 km, collect $5.25 ($0.25 x 21)
  4. On January 1st2020 open your Piggy Bank and count up coins to see how much did you earn with your runs.

Celebrate your success and share your story.
